Southeastern Xterra Cup Race- Pelham, AL
Pelham Alabama is about a ten hour drive from Dallas, Texas so Thursday night after work, so Steph, Brooks and I packed up the car, and my bike and headed to Pelham for the Southeastern Xterra Cup race. I missed the Waco Southern Xterra race due to a broken toe so I’m here to redeem myself! I pre-rode the course on Friday and it was a BLAST! It was fast with lots of turns in the trees, then it opened up onto a uphill fire road for a few miles. Now, don’t think that’s boring at all! There were plenty of rocks to maneuver around! After a few miles of climbing the trail heads downhill through Blood Rock, and winds down the mountain. Talk about a RUSH! After some fun downhill stuff the trail heads into some winding in and out of trees. The bike course is about 20 miles, then we go into a 6.2 mile trail run that I heard was pretty brutal. All of that was after a 1.5k swim in the warm waters of the lake. I’m off to bed now to get some rest. Night!
